A complete “vape setup” consists of several components. First, you have the mod, which is the main body of your vape. The mod houses a battery and connects to the atomizer. The atomizer consists of a coil and wick, and it is the part that heats up the e-liquid, turning it into vapor. You also have the tank, which holds the e-liquid. Lastly, you have the drip tip, which is the mouthpiece you use to inhale the vapor.
The Aspire vape kit is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to get started in the world of vaping. It comes with everything you need to begin your vape setup, including the mod, tank, coils, and batteries. It is simple to use and highly customizable, allowing you to tailor the experience to your own personal preferences. The mod features variable wattage and temperature control, while the tank has an adjustable airflow system for maximum vapor production. Most of Aspire Vape kits also comes with a wide range of coils to choose from, so you can find the one that best suits your vaping needs.
Example of popular Aspire vape kits you can choose from are Rhea X, Zelos X, Zelos Nano, Zelos 3,

E-Liquid: The stuff you vape

E-liquid, also known as e-juice, is the liquid that is heated up by the atomizer and turned into vapor. It contains a base of either vegetable glycerin (VG) or propylene glycol (PG). There are also flavorings, nicotine, and other additives depending on what type of e-liquid you are using. E-liquid comes in a variety of strengths and flavors, so there is something for everyone.

Atomizer: The part of your vape that heats up the e-liquid

The atomizer is the part of your vape that heats up the e-liquid, turning it into vapor. The atomizer consists of a coil (or multiple coils) and a wick. The coil is the part that actually heats up, and the wick is responsible for drawing the e-liquid from the tank and securing it to the coil. The atomizer is what gives you the flavor and “throat hit” that you are looking for.

Coil: The part of the atomizer that turns the e-liquid into vapor

Aspire Atlantis Coils

The coil, also known as the heating element, is the part of the atomizer that is responsible for turning the e-liquid into vapor. It is usually made up of Kanthal, Nichrome, Nickel, or Stainless steel wires and can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and resistances. The resistance of the coil determines how hot it gets and how much vapor is produced.
When we’re talking about atomizers and coils, one couldn’t help mentioning Aspire’s coil technology. Aspire’s acclaimed coil platform is designed with quality materials, ensuring a consistent and powerful vaping experience. Aspire coils are compatible with a variety of Aspire devices, making them a great choice for those who want to switch up their vaping devices without having to purchase a new coil.
Additionally, all of Aspire’s coils are known for their longevity, providing a cost-effective vaping experience that will last for a long time. With their quality construction and wide compatibility, Aspire Coils are an ideal choice for both experienced and new vapers alike.

Wick: The part of the coil that draws e-liquid from the tank

The wick can be made out of several different materials, such as organic cotton, silica, or even stainless steel. The wick is responsible for drawing the e-liquid from the tank and keeping it in contact with the coil. By doing this, it ensures that the coil never runs dry and that you get the most consistent flavor from your vape.

Battery: The power source for your vape

The battery is the power source for your vape, and it is usually either an internal or external battery. Internal batteries are built into the mod, while external batteries are typically removable. The type of battery you use will determine how long your vape will last on a single charge and the amount of power it produces.

Variable Voltage/Wattage: A way to customize your vaping experience

RHEA X

RHEA X

Variable voltage/wattage is a feature found on some mods that allows you to adjust the power setting of your device. This is a great way to customize your vaping experience by changing the flavor and throat hit. Higher voltage/wattage will produce more vapor, while lower voltage/wattage will produce less vapor.
Aspire vape mods are among the most popular on the market today, providing a powerful and reliable vaping experience. They are designed to be easy to use and adjustable to suit individual preferences. Aspire vape mods come in a variety of styles, sizes, and designs, meaning they can easily be customized to fit any type of vaper.
With a range of features such as temperature control, variable wattage, and adjustable airflow, these mods are ideal for those looking for an enhanced vaping experience. Aspire vape mods also have an excellent safety rating and are backed by a good warranty, making them a great choice for those looking for a reliable and dependable mod.
Examples of popular Aspire vape mods are the Rhea X and the Zelos series mods.

Sub-Ohm Vaping: A way to produce more vapor

Sub-ohm vaping is a technique that involves using an atomizer with a resistance of less than one ohm. This increases the amount of power that is supplied to the coil, resulting in larger vapor production. It also reduces the overall temperature, allowing you to taste more flavor.

Mouth to Lung Vaping: A way in which most people smoke a cigarette

Aspire Vilter Pro

Aspire Vilter Pro

Mouth to lung vaping require coils with a resistance of higher than one ohm, this essentially means that the e-juice in the tank is vapourised at a cooler temperature and therefore a thinner vapour is produced, where the vapour from an e-cigarette is inhaled into the mouth, then into the lungs. This style of vaping is best suited to beginners as it resembles the way in which most people smoke a cigarette. Aspire Vilter Pro using non-replaceable 1.2 ohm mesh coil and filter drip tip provides you with a great cigarlike inhale and exhale experience and incredible pure flavor perfect throat-hit.

Vapers Tongue: Where Have My Taste Gone?

The mysterious ‘vaper’s tongue’ is an ailment that has long puzzled the vaping community. It is when a vaper loses the ability to taste the flavors of their e-liquid, no matter how much they vape. It is thought to be caused by taste bud fatigue, but the exact cause is still a mystery. Vapers have reported trying all sorts of remedies, from drinking more water to switching up their flavor selection, but the condition still remains. Some have even suggested that it is caused by nicotine addiction, but this has yet to be proven. Whatever the cause, vapers should be aware that this strange condition does exist and that it may be affecting their experience.

Steeping: The Art of Vaping Perfection

The art of steeping is an essential part of vaping that involves the process of aging and enhancing the flavor of e-liquids. This process involves leaving the e-liquids to sit for a period of time to allow the ingredients to mix and steep. This is done to produce a more complex, rich flavor. The steeping process can range from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the type of e-liquid. While some vapers may be tempted to skip the steeping process, it is important to remember that the flavor of an e-liquid can be greatly improved by steeping. Not only can it bring out the full flavor of the juice, it can also help to reduce the harshness and throat hit of the e-liquid. Therefore, the art of steeping is essential for achieving a perfect vape.

Vaping Jargons: A Comprehensive Glossary For Vapers

Atomizer

This is an electrical component within an e-cigarette and usually further contained within the tank which contains the e-liquid, which when illuminated and you draw on the mouthpiece of the e-cigarette, turns the e-liquid onto a vapour. This is also more commonly referred to as a coil.

ADV

This stands for All Day Vape, which is how an e-liquid is described if a vaper is happy to vape that particular flavour all day long rather than changing flavours halfway through.

Airflow

This is the level of ease with which air is sucked in with each drag of your e-cigarette or mod. Free-flowing air usually result in more vapour and a restricted airflow produces less vapour, but can result in a more intense flavour.

APV

This is the abbreviation for an Advanced Personal Vaporiser, though you and I would usually refer to this as a mod. The APV generally has replaceable batteries and a variable voltage or wattage depending on the make and model.

Automatic Shutoff

This is a safety feature found on all legitimate e-cigarettes which stops the batter from overheating when the e-cigarette is being recharged.

Automatic e-cigarette

This is an e-cigarette which does not have a button to send power to the coil when you want to vape. Instead, this form of e-cigarette senses when the user sucks on the device and this powers the coil.

Battery

Whether it is an e-cigarette or a bod, all forms of e-cigarettes require a battery which sends power to the coil to heat it on order for it to turn the e-liquid into a vapour. The battery is the main part of an e-cigarette and is usually replaceable in a mod. However, in pen-style e-cigarettes the batteries tend to be rechargeable, but not replaceable, so once the battery can no longer retain a charge, it’s time to buy a new e-cigarette.

Blend

All e-liquids are predominantly made up of a blend of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine VG). The nicotine in an e-liquid and also the chemicals which are used to create flavours are usually dissolved in propylene glycol

Box Mod

This is the basic description of a mod that has a box-shaped battery.

Cig-a-like

This is a form of e-cigarette that is becoming less popular but used to be a common introduction to e-cigarettes for those who were looking to quit smoking and therefore wanted a substitute that was similar in feel and look.

Clearomiser

This is the name given to a single element of an e-cigarette which combines both a refillable container for an e-liquid as well as the coil to heat the e-liquid. Clearomisers tend to be transparent so users can clearly see when they are nearly empty and require refilling cartridge and atomiser, this is usually transparent and allows vapers to measure the e-liquid level.

Cloud Chasing / Chasers

This term refers to those vapers who are big fans of massive clouds of vapour, and consequently are usually mod users.

Clouds

A cloud is the vapour that is given off when you exhale after suing an e-cigarette. Mods create appreciably larger clouds than e-cigarettes.

Coil Jig

A Coil Jig is a tool used for rebuilding the coil in an e-cigarette.

Coil

A coil is also known as an atomiser though it is actually the coiled metal element in an atomiser which heats up when a current is passed through it, enabling it to turn the e-liquid into a vapour.

Custom Mod

Custom mods are usually built by experienced vapers and who understand the way mods work.

DIY

DIY, short for ‘do it yourself’ is usually used within the field of e-liquids. DIY refers to those people who make their own e-liquids rather than buying them off the shelf.

Drip Tip

This is either a straight or slightly concave mouthpiece at the top of an e-cigarette through which you suck air to create vapour. Drip tips are only fitted to pen-style e-cigarettes and not mods.

Dry Burn

This is what happens if you let your e-liquid reservoir run dry and the coil becomes exposed to the air. When you then press the fire button and draw on your e-cigarette, you will get a burnt taste in your mouth.

Dry Hit

This term is used to describe the type of drag of an e-cigarette you get when the coil has burnt out.

DTL or DL

These abbreviations stand for ‘Direct to Lung’ and ‘Direct Lung’, respectively. This is the effect of inhaling vapour directly into your lungs when using a mod, rather than first drawing vapour into your mouth when using a pen-style e-cigarette. Check out our article What is the Difference Between a Mod and an e-Cigarette? (1) That will give you a comprehensive understanding of the difference in vaping styles when using a mod or an e-cigarette.

E-Cigarette

This should be an easy one for you as an e-cigarette is any form of device which has a reservoir for an e-liquid (which does not necessarily have to contain nicotine), a batter to provide power a coil to turn the e-liquid into vapour and a mouthpiece through which the vapour can be sucked.

E-liquid

This is liquid solution that usually contains nicotine, a mixture (blend) of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine, and often includes chemicals which also provide flavour. Nicotine-free liquids tend to be known as ‘vape juice’.

Hybrid

A hybrid is an e-cigarette where the atomiser directly connects with the battery and there are no 510 connections.

Low Resistance

Aspire PockeX Box AIO Kit 2000mAh Type-C 2A

Aspire PockeX Box AIO Kit 2000mAh Type-C 2A

Usually abbreviated to LR, low resistance means an e-cigarette can produce more vapour – and sub-ohm mods are well known for producing bilious clouds of vapour as they have very low resistance, such as the Aspire PockeX Box (2).

MG Strength

MG, usually written as, e.g., 6mg indicates the amount of nicotine contained in one millilitre of e-liquid in that bottle. Most off-the-shelf e-liquids containing nicotine have a strength of 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, and a maximum of 18mg. The idea behind the ranger is that smokers trying to quit will start at an 18mg strength, but will gradually reduce their dependence on nicotine by working their way down to the 3mg strength e-liquid.

Mod

Mod

Mod

This term is short for ‘modified’ or ‘modification’ and it is a specific type of e-cigarette made up of separate components.

MTL

This is an abbreviation for ‘mouth to lung’, which is form of vaping that mimics the act of smoking very closely. Vapour is drawn into the mouth before being transferred to the lungs. As mentioned earlier, the alternative to MTL is DTL, ‘direct to lung’, which is the style used when vaping with a mod.

Multi-Voltage Mod

This is a unique type of mod where you can adjust the voltage and therefore adjust the volume of vape cloud created.

No-Nic

This is common terminology for vape juice. Or any e-liquid which contains zero nicotine.

Nic Salt / Nicotine Salts

This is a specific form of nicotine used in e-liquids that is more readily absorbed in the PG or VG liquid. It is reputed to have a smoother throat hit, creating a sensation similar to smoking.

Ohm

Denoted by the symbol Ω, the number of ohms relates to the resistance of a coil used in an atomiser. Most vape pen style e-cigarettes have a resistance of between 2Ω and 4Ω, while most mods have a resistance of below 1Ω. Curiously and unusually, the higher the resistance in ohms, the less vapour you will be able to produce as the coil will not get sufficiently hot.

PG

This is the standard abbreviation for propylene glycol, one of the two base liquids used for e-liquids.

Rebuildables

These are existing tanks or atomisers which vapers can rebuild using their own choice of coils and wicks. These e-cigarettes are invariably built and used by very experienced vapers. by very experienced vapers.

Regulated Mod

You will find that all mods sold by Aspire are classed as ‘regulated mods’, meaning that the device includes certain safety features which are there to prevent the mod from overheating.

RDA

This is the abbreviation for Rebuildable Drip Atomizer, which is a coil / atomizer which can be rebuilt. However, it is different to an RTA as the liquid drips directly onto the wick.

RTA

This is the abbreviation for a Rebuildable Tank Atomizer, which is a coil/atomizer which you can rebuild can be rebuilt, and which is also used within a standard tank.

Starter Kit

You may often see the term ‘starter kit’ used for pen-like e-cigarettes that target the new vaper. While a kit implies there may be some assembly required, it is not actually the case. These are referred to as kits as they not only contain a complete e-cigarette with clearomisers, drip tips, and batter, but they also come with a recharging dock or USB charging cable.

Tanks

These are what we call the larger forms of clearomisers which hold much larger amounts of e-liquid and are part of a mod used to create billowing clouds of vapour.

Throat Hit

This is the term used to describe the effect the vapour from your e-cigarette has on your throat and the strength will depend on the volume of vapour inhaled. This, expect a far bigger throat hit from a mod than a pen-style e-cigarette.

Vape Pen

This is a frequently used alternative term for an e-cigarette

Vaper’s Tongue

This term is used to describe the dry, fluffy coating to your tongue if you vape too frequently. You will find that your sense of taste will also have become significantly impaired.

Vaping

This is the overall term used to describe the action of using an e-cigarette or mod.

VG

Similar to the abbreviation PG, VG is the abbreviation used for the e-liquid vegetable glycerine which is the other base substance used in e-liquids.

VV

This is the abbreviation for ‘variable voltage’ which relates to the ability to control the voltage on an e-cigarette.

VW

VW is the abbreviation for ‘variable wattage’ which relates to the ability to control the wattage on an e-cigarette.

Wick

A wick is a piece of cotton or fabric, usually in a clearomiser cartridge, that soaks up the e-liquid prior to it being vaporised and inhaled.
